Three High School Girls Found Dead in Busan: Education Office Launches Investigation

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 1:39 a.m. on June 21. Emergency responders found the three teenage girls collapsed and immediately transported them to the hospital, but all were pronounced dead.
The girls were confirmed to be close friends attending the same high school. CCTV footage showed them entering the rooftop of the apartment building around 11:30 p.m. the previous night. A note presumed to be a suicide letter was found at the scene, though police are still investigating the exact circumstances of their deaths.

In response, the Busan Office of Education convened an emergency countermeasure meeting led by the Superintendent and held a crisis management committee at the students’ school. A joint task force, headed by the Director of Secondary Education, has been formed to investigate the situation. A special audit of the school will also be conducted.
The education authorities expressed deep concern and urgency, pledging to uncover the truth and provide psychological support for the school community.
